Thoughtful Thursday - October 5th

G'day Chiro.Londoners,

Katie here, taking over this month’s Thoughtful Thursday while Drew is in Paris enjoying too much cheese, wine and sunshine – but not rugby, like many of our other staff! I am not much of a follower either, though I believe I should be glad I was not in clinic at Marylebone last Monday, where fellow Aussies Cam and Luke had to endure Tom the Welshman after Sunday’s game… let’s leave it at that.

I’d like to start with some learning, as there has been an influx of new, super adorable babies across all of our clinics over the past month. So we thought we would share a guideline of baby milestones for all those new parents out there. 😊 Each milestone builds on the next, forming a strong foundation for brain development and future skills.

Tummy time: This can be started from birth, on parents’ chests, slowly building up strength.

Rolling: 4-6 months of age.

Sitting (supported and unaided): 6-8 months.

Crawling: 7-10 months of age.

Walking: 10-18 months of age.

The above is an approximate guideline; each baby has their own unique history that will contribute to their milestone journey. If you have any questions or want to learn more, don’t be afraid to reach out and ask your chiropractor for advice! You can also find more tips and info on our chiro Ami Said’s Instagram, @dr.amichiro.

Sadly, on October 21st, we say farewell to one of the team’s most beloved CAs, Shennae, who’s heading back Down Under to finish her law degree. Shennae has the rare honour of having worked behind every Chiro.London desk – though she is very short in stature, so it’s possible you may have missed her. 😉 A very valued part of the team, we wanted to give Shennae a huge thank you for all her hard work over the years and wish her best of luck in her next chapter. We’ll miss you!

Podcasts
We have two new episodes of the Chiro.London Pod, proudly fuelled by Ground Coffee Society, for you to listen to this month.

The first features one of our Putney chiros, Conor Ward, who discusses the importance of heart rate variability (HRV) and the devices we can use to monitor it.

The second pod is slightly more niche and directed towards our female chiros in the crowd, with Katelyn McGregor sharing her experiences of working as a chiro whilst pregnant.

Check them out now on our website, Spotify, Apple and Google.

Shameless Plug

Each month our Putney clinic has been hosting complimentary health talks. A different health condition is covered in each talk, and up next will be Conor discussing all things slipped discs, numbness and sciatica, on Wednesday, October 25th at 6.30pm.

Keen to come along, or know someone who could benefit from attending? Secure your free ticket(s) just by clicking here!

For November’s talk, Conor will be delving into spinal arthritis and, in particular, how to beat the winter months. Winter is the time of year that many feel the symptoms of arthritis most acutely – that's where this workshop is here to help!

The talk will take place on Wednesday, November 8th at 6:30pm. Click here to book your tickets.

If there are any health care topics that you might be interested in, drop us a line and let us know - we are always open to suggestions.
