Monday Motivation - July 29th

Hi everyone!I hope summer is off to a flyer and the batteries are recharging.

I'm deep in preparation mode for my 43km trail run on Saturday (insert appropriate gulp!?!?), so I’ve backed off the "leg days" in the gym and am hitting the foam roller pretty hard. Here are a few things I'm using and distracting myself with, enjoy...

Stretching daily

Up until recently I've never been a consistent stretcher but, as I get older, I'm noticing more and more benefit from doing something regularly. I had this RomWod app recommended to me by a PT friend of mine, Carl, and have really enjoyed it. First week free, then a few £ a month after, no brainer.

Compression

Not only is it amazing for long haul flights, but incredibly useful for muscle recovery and supporting injured or strained muscles. I use these regularly and will definitely be running in them Saturday!

Vivo Barefoot shoes

I've heard only good things from numerous friends about this brand and recently dived in. I picked up a pair made from recycled plastic bottles (yep, that's a thing!) and have fallen in love with them. I can literally feel my feet moving as nature intended...

Holiday movies

The chances of me having the energy to make a movie and get around the trail this weekend is highly unlikely... BUT for those of you who are keen to save your holiday memories in the film form, here are 5 tips to make it awesome!

Holiday reading

So many books, so little time… I read 50 books last year  - and I didn't love all of them. I'm now more discerning about what I put in front of my eyes, food for thought...

One book I'm really looking forward to is Hungry, written by a journalist who travels with the man behind Noma (which was once ranked the best restaurant in the world and currently sits second). Listen to the author here on Rich Roll and get a copy here.

Eat well, move well, be well.

Big love,

Luke x
