Private Health Insurance for Chiropractic Care

Do you have private health insurance which covers chiropractic, sitting there, unused, while you’re putting up with back pain or spinal problems?

We’re happy to say that all of our clinics have at least one Chiropractor registered with the major insurance companies and many of the smaller ones. However, owing to the various policies and coverage provided by different insurers and terms they offer some of our Chiropractors/Clinics are not registered with all health insurers and they may/may not be covered for all services.

As a result, the best way to find out if your insurance will contribute to your care with one of our team is to call your insurer, prior to attending. Let them know which clinic and which Chiropractor you’d like to see and they’ll let you know what needs doing to make it happen and what you’re covered for.

As some clinics offer x-ray, we would recommend confirming that you will be covered for this along with any examinations & treatment, prior to attending. We have reminders everywhere about clarifying reimbursement for X-ray as many people do not think to ask. Unfortunately, we cannot be held at fault in the event you are not reimbursed for anything.

Here are some tips for two of the biggies…

BUPA (UK ONLY)

Each clinic has at least one BUPA practitioner. We believe you need to call BUPA for an authorisation code, which normally covers a few sessions (that we will bill directly to them at £65 for a first visit and £50 for follow-ups) to get the ball rolling on your care.

We facilitate billing and that is literally all we know about your/BUPA’s policies and procedures. If you require further information about your policy, you will need to call them.

While BUPA may issue a code valid for (X) amount of sessions, it is our experience that this does not necessarily mean that they will cover the cost of that many sessions. Please clarify this with your insurer to avoid any potential financial shortpayments that you may not have been expecting. It may save you money to continue privately.

If X-Rays are required for diagnostic reasons, we require payment at the time of service and can issue an invoice to submit for reimbursement. Again, this is policy dependent so please ensure you clarify if they will cover X-ray prior to attending.

This is for BUPA UK and we do not offer this service for BUPA international clients.

Our chiropractors who are covered by BUPA in our clinics are:

  • Craig McLean (Putney) – BUPA 30020809

  • George Ross (Putney) – BUPA 30037968

  • Bryan Thirsk (Putney) – BUPA 30047114

  • Conor Ward (Putney) - BUPA 30014025

  • Paul Danford (Kew) – BUPA 30002364

  • Michael Lezuo (Tooting) - BUPA 30039333

  • Mike McBean (Fulham) - BUPA 30040028

  • Susan Strevens (Fulham) - BUPA 30044925

AXA PPP
All of our clinics are covered by AXA PPP (except Kew/Richmond, where only Paul Danford DC is registered). To get started you’ll need to contact them to be authorised for treatment. From there you will take payment at £50 for an initial consultation and £45 for follow ups from you and issue you a receipt to claim back from AXA PPP yourself.

As outlined above and in our T&Cs, please clarify with AXA PPP if you will be reimbursed for everything (notably x-rays) as we will not provide refunds for services provided in the event your insurer does not cover this.

Our clinic AXA codes are:

Marylebone – ZZ04231
Fulham – ZZ03996
Tooting – ZZ03995
Putney – ZZ03992
