Massage

Mackenzie is a qualified Sports Massage Therapist with a BSc in Human Anatomy, who’s also currently completing her Master of Chiropractic at London South Bank University.

Passionate about the benefits of an active lifestyle, she understands the wear and tear this can have on the body first-hand, having suffered with injuries during her dancing career and finding relief in regular massage and chiropractic care.

Mackenzie’s goal is to promote injury recovery, relieve pent-up muscle tension, and return the body to a state of optimal health and vitality. And for the mums-to-be out there, she is an officially qualified pregnancy massage therapist, too.

Meg Dunlop

Wandsworth Bridge

Massage & Sports Therapy

After studying Sport and Exercise Science, Meg is now specialising in rehabilitation, and is enjoying being able to apply her massage therapy skills in a clinical setting.

Meg’s own sporting experience means her previous work has been with recreational rowers and semi-professional rugby teams, so she has a range of experience treating various injuries (as well as general aches and pains!).

As an athlete herself, Meg is passionate about promoting a healthy lifestyle which complements any treatments being given, and providing clients with a personalised experience that will benefit them not just in the short term, but also the long term.

Joe Crawford

Marylebone

Masssage & Sports Therapy

Joe developed an interest in the human body and treating injuries after sustaining a variety of injuries himself whilst playing sports. Wanting to learn more about the recovery process, he enrolled in Sports Therapy at the University of Chichester, graduating in 2014.

Since then, he has worked with rugby and football teams, and broadened his knowledge and understanding of physiology and treatment by working with chiropractors and osteopaths in Central London.

As well as delivering effective sports massage, Joe creates specific rehabilitation programmes to aid recovery from short- and long-term injuries. He aims to find the true cause of the problem to deliver a treatment programme for long-lasting results and to reduce the risk of re-injury. Joe is a full member of the Society of Sports Therapists.

Hazle Park

Marylebone

After sustaining injuries during her professional dancing career, Hazle found she benefited from chiropractic and massage therapy and decided it was time to master the arts of chiropractic and massage herself.

Now trained in a variety of massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, sports and pregnancy, and also dry needling, Hazle aims to help restore her patients’ movement and function to allow them to feel healthy inside and out.

Our Services

Sports Massage

Sports massage is not limited to elite sports people. Anyone who partakes in sport or has a manual job would benefit from a sports massage. This form of massage is a deeper tissue massage generally associated with the prevention and treatment of strains, sprains and injury.

Soft tissue massage involves employing a variety of techniques to mobilise the soft tissues of the body. These tissues include muscle, ligaments, tendons, fascia and the connective tissue around joints. There are several different techniques employed in soft tissue massage - which one your therapist uses will depend on how they wish to affect the tissue.

We can treat generalised aches and pains, working alongside your chiropractic care; general, acute and chronic back pain (not from accident or injury); uncomplicated mechanical neck pain (not from accident, e.g. whiplash); circulatory problems; sciatica; muscle problems; fibromyalgia; rheumatic pain; minor sports injuries and tensions.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).

While some of the strokes may feel the same as those used in Swedish massage therapy, deep tissue massage is unique in the sense that it is used to dissipate scar tissue and physically break down muscle “knots” or adhesions – bands of painful, rigid tissue – that can disrupt circulation and cause pain, a limited range of motion, and inflammation. Some light bruising is also a possible side effect of deep tissue massage.

Scar Tissue Release Technique

The scar tissue release technique is a unique treatment using hands-on movements to normalise scarring, which gives permanent results. It is an effective method of reducing the symptoms associated with recent or long-term scars. This can be used for a number of different scars including:

  • Post surgical scars

  • Traumatic injury

  • Muscle injury

  • Spinal scars

  • Hysterectomy scars

  • Caesarian scars

  • Head wound scars

  • Mastectomy scars

  • Amputation scars

  • Underlying scar tissue from laparoscopic surgery

The practitioner lightly manipulates the scar tissue to help separate the tissue strands to free any trapped nerve endings, re-supply blood circulation, and improve lymph drainage. This technique can be used on old or new scars but the client must wait until all healing has been completed on both the skin’s surface and underneath before the technique can be performed. This high quality technique requires a level of training which is undertaken by healthcare professionals.

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is a gentle form of massage with the aim of relaxing the whole body. The massage therapist will do a combination of kneading, rolling, vibration, percussive, and tapping movements across the neck, back, arms and legs to release muscle tension. The longer and softer strokes are what sets Swedish massage apart from other types of massage, and the lighter pressure ensures a deeply relaxing experience.
