Thoughtful Thursday - June 4th

A reminder our clinics are still open, so please contact us if you’re in need of help.

Good morning,

It’s truly been a week of ups and downs, but the lifting of some distancing restrictions along with the return of competitive sport have provided little lights of positivity and some welcome distractions. We’ll discuss some of the benefits of these later in our email, but first…

Doc Craig successfully distracted himself yesterday by cycling the distance of the M25 and then some (around 300km), all in aid of raising much needed funds for Duchenne UK. The charity was due to stage a 24-hour cycle from London to Paris next weekend that Doc Craig was to take part in before COVID-19 hit, so he thought this challenge would be a worthy alternative.

At the time of writing this, he’d been cycling for eight hours and still had about 50km to go! If you’re able to donate a few £ towards Doc Craig’s stellar effort, you can do so here.

Podcast(s) of the Week

Speaking of Doc Craig… since we haven’t received any objections and apparently haven’t offended anyone (yet), he’s continuing his podcast with gusto and has two special guests this week – Doc George Ross today at 9:30am live on our Instagram story, and Doc Erana Tupaea tomorrow at 4pm also live on our Instagram.

Doc George is one of our more experienced practitioners, having founded a group of Chiropractic clinics on the south coast and working in Canary Wharf before joining our team. Doc Erana hails from New Zealand and began her Chiropractic career there before taking the plunge and moving to London. We’re sure both of our special guests will provide interesting insights and different perspectives on the Chiropractic industry based on their experiences thus far.

Meanwhile, if you missed last week’s chat with Doc Paul Danford, you can have a listen to it here, along with our other past episodes.

Shameless Plug(s) of the Week

As we mentioned earlier, the relaxing of some isolation guidelines to enable socially-distanced outdoor meetings between six people was a boost for all, but especially for those in the fitness industry, who are once again able to hold group classes outside! Our friends at Body Society have restarted their HIIT classes on Eel Brook Common in Fulham, which are equipment-free and limited to groups of five people. Classes can be booked through their website and are just £10 each.

The team at Daley Fitness have also started outdoor sessions for their members at Leader’s Gardens in Putney. If you’re not a member, you can join now for half-price, and pay the remainder when the gym re-opens. Contact them via email to find out more. If you’re happy working out at home, you can also join Daley Thompson for a workout on Virgin Media’s new Wellness Channel (997) – check out the programme guide here.

Need a little extra motivation to get you moving? Our mates at Absolute Studios are launching a ‘Kick Start Summer’ 30-day challenge from Monday with some great prizes on offer. The challenge is simple: partake in four online pilates classes a week over the 30 days and you’ll go into the draw to win unlimited classes, a private session and pilates socks! Email them to register and find out more.

Don't forget, we’re here to help you in any way we can, so please don’t hesitate to call us for advice, a chat or to book in for an adjustment.

As always, be safe, be alert and be kind to one another.

Till next week,

Drew
