Benefits of staying adjusted vs getting adjusted

“Fix me, doc!”

We hear it everyday. But guess what - you’re not broken!

Getting adjusted often feels amazing. The moment the movement to your spine is restored many people report that they feel more relaxed, at ease, and yes - often they get a decrease in their pain symptoms.

But we haven’t “fixed” anything! What happens when you get adjusted is that your innate or inbuilt healing potential is unlocked, allowing your body to reconnect to what it already knows how to do inherently: heal, strengthen, and adapt.

When your body is in that adjusted state, that is when it is at its most powerful. When our body is under more stress, we often need more adjustments to help with the healing and adapting. As our body’s ability to adapt improves, we may need less.

When we judge our need for an adjustment by our pain levels, often we have been in a maladaptive state for a while, and it can take longer each time to get back to our fullest potential. The chiropractic adjustment unlocks this potential! ️

It’s easy to fall into the pitfall of thinking our health is a fixed point. However, our health is an ever changing, ever adapting state. Much like our bank account. When you get paid, that same amount of money doesn’t stay in your account for the month, right? We do the work required to earn the money, then we spend some, and we save some (sometimes we do more of one than the other! ).

When you get adjusted, stay hydrated, exercise, or get a good nights rest, these are all deposits into your health account. These deposits allow us to make withdrawals every now and again. The goal is not to hit a fixed destination, but to maintain balance and a high quality of life, so you can do more of what is most important to you.

What deposits can you make this week?
